Her mother was Cynthia Louise Bissett vice president of mobile provider Verizon. Joseph Anthony Germanotta Jr. was a director and entrepreneur of an internet-based network was her father. Born into an Catholic family the child was raised in Manhattan's Upper East Side. For this reason the parents of her enrolled her at the Convent of the Sacred Heart an elitist and religious school. From the time she was a child, she has been an avid music fan. She began to play the piano in the very beginning and wrote her first solo song when she was thirteen. Open mic nights were her absolute favorite. She was a fan of Queen Michael Jackson Madonna as well as David Bowie. She took music classes in the Tisch School of Art of New York University after completing her secondary education. After high school, she chose to pursue a music career and resigned from her studies.
